Interview Wednesdays: Dillonsgirl

Happy Wednesday everybody! It's Nicole from Blue Bicicletta, and it's time for another chit chat with one of our very own SactoMetro Etsians. {If you're a SactoMetro Etsian and haven't submitted your interview yet, visit this post.}

Today we get to learn about new team member: Lisa from Dillonsgirl. Welcome to the team Lisa! And now, won't you come with me for a little peek into Lisa's creative world?

Tell us a bit about yourself- your name, your shop name, your
location & one sentence to describe you.

My name is Lisa Dillon at Dillonsgirl, I’m living in Rocklin, Ca and one sentence to describe me would be; I’m always crazy busy.

When you aren’t crafting, what else are you up to?

I work full time, go to Sierra college full time, have 4 boys, volunteer with boy scouts, run 2 eBay stores and my etsy store. I love to read, watch movies, play on the computer and scrapbook.

What first inspired you to become a crafter/artisan?

My mom taught me to crochet when I was 5 yrs old. It just inspired something in me and I have been creating something ever since.

Describe your creative process. What do you do to get inspired? How
do you make your pieces, when do you work on them, what materials do
you use?

I think I have ADD, haha. I get bored easily with one thing and find something that sparks an interest and I run with it. I don’t do anything in small form. I have to buy every item, color or size then create create create. I get ideas from shows, books, internet and my friends. I carry a bag with my current project where ever I go.

What handmade possession do you most cherish?

The very first blanket I ever made. It’s crooked on one side but it is well made.

Name your top 3 books, movies, musical groups and websites.

Left behind book series, Sookie Stackhouse book series, love Under the Tuscan Sun.

What piece of Etsy advice can you give your fellow team members that
has been most helpful to you so far?

I’m new to Etsy but I would say, to continue to create new items for your site. You want to be able to attract new customers with a wide variety of items you can make.

How do you promote your Etsy shop/products?

I have flyers at my place of employment. I also post on my face book page.

What is your ultimate goal with your Etsy shop(s)/crafting/artwork?

I would like to be able to create my items and see others really enjoy them. It doesn’t hurt to make some money from my creations and get a nice following.

Where can we find you online?

Etsy Shop

Thanks so much for sharing your creativity with us Lisa, and thanks to all for reading! Have a great and creative week!
