Want to donate an item to charity?

Hey all- if you'd like to donate an item to charity in exchange for some free advertisement, please contact Katherine Lockhart (Lockhart.Katherine@gmail.com). She will pick up the item from you at your convenience and provide you with the organization's tax ID number for your records. Donation deadline is Oct. 15th. Here are the details:

The Active 20-30 Club of Greater Sacramento #1032 is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization whose mission is to improve the quality of life for the special needs children in our community. Our club is made up exclusively of women who work passionately throughout the year to raise money that will directly benefit special needs children in the Greater Sacramento area.

This year marks the 28th Annual Monte Carlo Event for our club. In previous years, this event has sold out with 500 guests. Attendees included leaders in the Sacramento business community, celebrities and media personalities.

Our 28th Annual Monte Carlo Night will be held on Saturday, October 17, 2009 at the Tsakopoulos Library Galleria in downtown Sacramento. Our event features Monte Carlo style gaming, live music as well as other attractions including dancing, a silent auction, and all-inclusive drinks and appetizers.

The success of our event rests on generous donations from the community. We would like to request your support for our event by donating items or gift certificates to be included in the silent auction and raffle. All silent auction contributions will be acknowledged in the event program and displayed for our guests to view and bid upon.

As an event donor, your business will gain great exposure from your generous donation, while contributing to the betterment of children in our community. And your contribution is tax deductible.

All event proceeds will directly benefit WEAVE, Project Birthday, & Wellspring Women’s Center, as well as other local children’s charities. Weave provides crisis intervention services to women, men and children in Sacramento County who have experienced domestic violence and/or have been sexually assaulted. Project Birthday provides parties for children residing in local Sacramento homeless shelters and other temporary living facilities. Wellspring Women’s Center nurtures the innate goodness and personal self-esteem of women and their children. In 2008, Greater Sacramento #1032 contributed over $50,000 to local children’s charities. With your help, we hope to better that contribution this year. If you cannot commit to a donation at this time, we invite you to support our event by attending. Tickets can be purchased by contacting us, or visiting our website at www.montecarlo2030.com.
